Urgent call for the Northern Irish government to support nightlife
Free The Night, a nighttime advocacy organisation based in Northern Ireland have launched an urgent call to action campaign and petition for the government to support nightlife recovery, freelancers and self-employed workers within the creative and nighttime economy sectors.
Nightclubs have been given the green light to reopen on the 26th of Jan however, there is no guarantee that the industry will bounce back, with many venues struggling to operate their normal hours.
Since nightlife closed in December, there has been no financial support for individual workers, nor announcements of any recovery funds for an industry that is already struggling.
The campaign aims to effectively communicate the urgent message to the government ahead of the pre-election break period, on 28th March when specific restrictions on communications activity are in place.
