China, Shanghai: “FROM THE ASHES LEFT BEHIND BY ARKHAM IN SHANGHAI RISES ZHAI”

Once a 500-capacity club committed to promoting a roster of underground artists, Arkham is no more. Now presenting Zhai.

For seven years, Arkham was Shanghai’s go-to for a raucous night out. If you were the kind of kid who went out in Shanghai in the pursuit of parties, you probably ended up at Arkham. If you were the kind of person who lived for live shows, you probably ended up at Arkham. Or maybe you just wanted to go where it was the bold and the busiest, you probably ended up at Arkham. But the problem lay there, Arkham was laid out as a space to accommodate throngs of people when big names rolled through town, neither of which is happening in this new state we’re living that’s being touted as normal. But instead of accepting defeat, Arkham is doing what any smart business owner should do: adapting.
