Austria and Portugal: ”Austria, Portugal impose partial coronavirus lockdowns”
Austria and Portugal announced plans for limited lockdowns on Saturday evening in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
In Austria, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announced a nighttime curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., with some exceptions. Cafés and restaurants will be able to sell takeaway only; venues such as gyms, museums and theaters will have to shut.
Schools, shops and hairdressers will stay open. The new measures will apply from Tuesday until the end of November.
